Preparing soil for growing ginger in sacks.
For growing ginger in cement or other bags, mix the following ingredients and cover the soil with polythene 15-20 days before planting ginger so that air cannot enter. The specified amount of soil, organic fertilizer, and chemical fertilizer should be applied to each bag.
To get a good yield of ginger, depending on the fertility of the land, first mix 10-12 kg of soil, 5 kg of cow dung, 2 kg of vermicompost, 20 g of TSP, 7.5 g of MOP, 1 kg of ash, 10 g of carbofuran/Cartap, 5 g of zinc or copper, and 5 g of boron in each bag.
While preparing the mixture, soil, cow dung, vermicompost, ash, TSP, carbofuran, zinc, and boron should be mixed. Half of the MOP should be given while preparing the mixture. Half of the urea and half of the DAP should be applied 50 days after planting, and the remaining half of the urea and MOP should be applied equally in two installments in the sacks after 80 days and 110 days respectively. Half of the DAP fertilizer should be applied 65 days after planting and the remaining half of the DAP fertilizer should be applied after 130 days.
Ginger planting time
Ginger should be planted in April-May (Chaitra-Baishakh), but the first week of April is the best time. Before planting, fill each bag with the prepared mixture so that there is 1-2 inches of space at the top of the bag.
Sack installation method
A bed should be made 3 meters wide and as long as required. A 60 cm drain should be placed between one bed and the other. The bed should be raised above the drainage soil bed so that rainwater does not accumulate. 2 rows should be placed in each bed in such a way that there is a distance of 1 meter between one row and the other. 2 sacks should be placed side by side 6-8 inches apart in each row.
Seed size and planting method
One seed per 40-50 grams of soil should be planted 4-5 inches deep in the soil. After planting, it should be covered with soil.

Seed treatment
Before planting, soak one kilogram of ginger seeds in 2 grams of Autostin or Provex per liter of water for an hour. Then, remove the wet ginger from the water, dry it in the shade, and plant it in a sack.
Inter-care
There are not many weeds in ginger cultivation in sacks. If weeds are seen, they should be cleaned with a hoe. During fertilizer application, loosen the soil apply fertilizer away from the base of the plant, and mix it well with the soil.
Harvesting
Ginger is usually harvested from the sacks from January to February. When the ginger matures, the leaves of the plant gradually turn yellow and the stem starts to dry. At this time, the ginger should be picked, shaken off the soil, cleaned of the roots, and stored.
Crops
Usually, a yield of 1-3 kg of ginger is obtained per sack, depending on the variety.
